The narrow frame of this small baby walker helps make it easy for inexperienced babies to navigate in small play areas, which can help when you live in an apartment and worry about knocking things over. In our tests, it worked just fine for even older babies, though we were probably pushing the weight limits a bit. For handy parents this might not be an issue, as you could put on some Teflon washers and use them to change the friction; but for most other parents it will prove a bit of a pain in the rear. Before that point, they will sit or kneel next to it and take advantage of its integrated toys; once they start walking with assistance, they will likely be independently walking within 4-8 weeks. But what has raised eyebrows among many parents is the physical impact of activity walkers on their babies.

Your reactions can’t match the speed of a baby Einstein walker once your kid has known how to push and is out of sight. When our test babies tried it out, they all seemed to love being able to put random things in the front and push them around. My personal favorite feature is that the base is wide and steady, making it extra safe for your baby. We thought the entire walker was surprisingly thoughtful and well-made, and we loved how each feature can be locked out for safety and developmental purposes. If you’re concerned about the sounds, there is a volume control that allows you to set the sound volume to your preferred settings.Like we said above, among activity walkers you will also find easily destructible assembled plastic. The only drawbacks we found are: it doesn't fold for storage, the wheels spin really fast (and slide side-to-side) on hardwood or tile (we suggest only using on the carpet until your child gets more confident and stable), and the height is not adjustable. Well, the best part of this walker is that it's marketed as a 3-in-1 baby walker, which means that it can convert from a traditional bucket-seat style baby walker to a walk-behind baby walker, and also a rolling toy car mode. It also provides your child with an entertaining toy that can be used on the floor and in walker mode.

The Sea sets provide learning aids themed on exploring sea life with sounds of water and creatures, while Skysets include planes that go up in the sky as animatronics natures them. While she doesn't profess to know it all, Amy's real-life experiences make her a relatable guide for those in the throes of parenting. There is a large button that will be easy for your baby to press as he joyfully toggles through the seven different melodies.Since 2005, she has been working as an independently contracted pediatrician with Medical Doctors Associates at Pediatricare Associates of New Jersey. About the toys - it has a lot of them, some with music and lights, some with crinkle noises, and some relatively simple cause-effect options. The removable toy panel of this walker lets the child start playing on the floor or take the toys outside with you. We never publish any content related to the health or well-being of your child without first consulting with expert pediatricians, midwives, therapists, OB/GYNs, and other specialists as appropriate. Through these stages, the system covers several educational topics including the alphabet, colors and shapes, numbers and counting, and even covers some Spanish vocabulary.

This is a much more traditionally-styled baby walker with all the bells and whistles, including bright colors and noisy toys. When we tested it, we found that it assembled very easily out of the box, and everything worked pretty well. Once babies are a little more than 9 months, they are interested in moving around and they will do anything to get a given toy-station. Giving him a chance to listen to music, and some freedom to choose his own music is great for his psychological development. The toy station is removable and can become a fun toy for your little one while on the floor leaving a snacking space/tray where you can put snacks for them.Newer designs will also increase the width of the tray area surrounding the baby, making it harder for them to reach beyond the width of the walker pushing up against a kitchen counter (and also making it harder for them to pinch fingers when bumping into a wall or furniture). Go for a toddler walker that can be converted to something else once the kid grows, something like a chair, high or regular. Of course it's just one test and your situation might differ, so always watch your baby carefully and make sure your home is safe before using any baby walker.

Note that if you don't want the rolling walker part, but want a standing activity center that is very similar to this, VTech also makes an awesome Learning Table. The sit-to-stand walkers are the best for helping a baby who is already standing and maybe even taking a few steps on their own. This Beright Wooden Baby Walker was recommended to me by my pediatrician and my little guy absolutely loves it! Assembly takes about 10 minutes and you will need a screwdriver to assemble the front axles; everything else is literally (and figuratively! If you are looking for a safer spot to set your baby down and keep them entertained, these are recommended by the AAP.If your child is destructive, especially boys, then you will have to be extra careful in the choices you make. For one, the bottom of the seat is about 7" above the floor at the lowest setting, which is great for toddlers just beginning to toddle around.
